Sho: First of all this has been a great discussion to follow along on this topic, very interesting, and the hard work you put in shows in your products. It looks to me like Boki and Adler 6mm are pretty similar in size and would match up fairly well on the table, although maybe not as well on the same bases because of the distinctive Adler heads. It is subjective to some extent but there is not much difference in scale from the usual viewing distance for me. Many figures have their characteristics, the Adler heads, the H&R muskets as thick as pikes sometimes.
I have the feeling that there is enough variation in "6mm" size and features among the various makers that comparison photos with a measured background is would be a great tool for those looking to see what looks right with what. I think I have seen this somewhere, maybe it was even on this long thread! From Heroics and Ros on up to your Boki 8mm I think it would be interesting to see what the sizes are and how the features compare all in one photo - very helpful when planning what figures to purchase. Comparing photos must shoot by the third part, like Richard does with my, Adlers an Baccus figures. Leon Adler don't like if producers do this. But here it is, my first Austrian Unit.. www.boki.ee/Painted_Figs/AUSTRIA/AU_6002/Boki_Shop.htmMO - Mounted Officer S - Skirmisher O - Officers F - Flagbearers D - Drummer N - NCO T1-T12 - Troopers T13-T14 - Bonus or replacement Troopers C - Casualties Sadly I was not able to properly cast my "ready for use" strips and therefore there are less figures in unit and no grenadiers. Must do sepaate unit for grenadiers.

What Leon Adler deosn't like is when a pic is rescaled from a different context and then put up against another picture from another context. Comparison shots have to be the the real figures next to each other and then a photo taken. The former is just plain rude and bad manners and very unprofessional. Generally thought of as a lack of respect is the polite way of putting it. L

Mr. Adler: No disrespect intended on my part- my thought was to give people a way to see if they can mix different brands together on the table in a way that works for them. It would not occur to me that images might be distorted for unethical reasons, but this has been your experience apparently and I agree with you. I would likely have been an Adler customer if I had not acquired so much H&R so long ago but I actually like pretty much everything close to 6mm. Just looking for way to see what looks good with what for me so I can figure out how to cover what H&R does not. Bruce

Bruce, My comment wasn't directed at you but at the rather barbed comment of Sho 'Leon Adler don't like if producers do this' as when he did this a while ago on TMP it was a cut and paste job not a picture taken of real figures. No problem with comparison shots at all as long as they are done properly and fairly as Richard has done earlier in this thread. Just because some of us do this for a living and therefore money is involved shouldn't mean that we have to behave like 'mega corps'. L

rather barbed comment of Sho Leon No-no-no-no.. absolutely no intent to say something barbed. Sorry, if my clumsiness caused misunderstanding again.

I wonder, why in 6mm infantry marching? Standing troopers are much better/easier to cast.

Sho: Always very interesting to look at the progression of your sculpts and your impressive skills!
I much prefer marching figures. They are marching, advancing, on the move, show action. Standing troops do not look right in column moving along a road, or attacking an enemy to me.
Sho, why don't you start a new thread? This one is 4 years old, getting very long! Bruce

Thanks Bruce! Actually this is not standing but moving figure. Only step is shorter than usual and painting is easier. I try, how they will be cast.
About thread you may be right. I have even longer threads on other places.

Yes, I can see that the figure has taken a step, looks real, very good. This would suit for standing or marching. Your proportions look excellent, I only wish these went with H&R for size. Fine work! Bruce

Looking very nice as always! But Sho, my friend, why not start a fresh thread? Call it Boki 18 perhaps. Then we can get to your pics faster! Bruce
