Took daylight photo too today. Even with robust and one layer ugly painting they look gorgeous on table. I am happy. Only fusiliers of them are ready for producing. Others are conversed old casts, mostly without faces.

Thanks! Have a question..
Can 6mm flags be casted?
Its obvious, that in 15mm flags must be separately added.. but in 6mm probably casted and handpainted flags look better that printed ones?

It takes a lot of work to paint a good flag sho , I would stick with the paper flag option as they look very good when done correctly .
Great figure by the way I like the detail on the saddle blanket.

Got to agree with Richard on the flags, painting a flag in 6mm that has been cast with bends and furls in it is very very difficult. Paper is better you can either print it or paint it flat and then shape it if you want to.

Thanks! All people so far want paper flags. So I will sculpt flagbearers without flags.

Ahh, you should do well with a range like that, not very well covered by the big firms.

Great mini's, I like the look of the early Austrians 1788 - 1798, a period not well covered. I would certainly be interested in those if they became available.

I calculated here and think, that it is better to sculpt full line of all nations troopers for one big mould and commands for separate mould. Started Command group for French fusiliers don't develop very well.. I am not happy with results and resculpt and resculpt and resculpt.. So I start to sculpt troopers and they all comes out on same time. But not so soon. Therefore, Richard, I may send to you samples of fusiliers now.. so you may paint, review and compare them. Mail me the posting address.
For now I want to sculpt for first big mould..
Austrians before 1800 (3) Infantry (1) Grenadiers (1) Cuirassieurs (1) Dragoons (1) Chevauleggers (1) Hussars
------------- SubTotal 8
Austrians before and after 1810 (3) German infantry (before 1810) (1) Hungarian infantry/Infantry after 1809 (1) Grenadiers (1) Cuirassieurs (1) Dragoons/Chevauleggers (1) Hussars ------------- SubTotal 8
Russians after 1809 (4) Infantry/Grenadiers Militia ? (1) Cuirassieurs (1) Dragoons Uhlans ? (1) Hussars Guard Cossacks ? (1) Cossacks -------------- SubTotal 8
French after 1806 (4) Fusiliers/Chasseurs (1) Guard/Grenadiers (1) Cuirassieurs (1) Dragoons (1) Chasseurs-a-cheval (1) Hussars ------------- SubTotal 9 _________________ Total 33 stands, 18 infantry (3 figures on stand) and 15 cavalry (1 figure on stand)
One mould can take 36 infantry or 28 cavalry stands or mix them.
For next mould there will be British for Peninsula and Waterloo, Prussians and French for 1806. For third mould Russians for Austerlitz and Suvorov, French for Revolution and Egypt. Next Prussians and others for Revolution and minor powers. This is preliminary plans.
Any suggestions?

Post by tim on Sept 24, 2014 20:18:46 GMT
Sho,
If you want me to be totally honest I would not just concentrate on making loads of fusileers with no command stands. Wargamers paint by full units, gives them a feeling of actually finishing something!!. No point in having loads of unfinished units hanging about that they can't put on the table for a year.
The 'little teaser' looks good, I guessing it's a Russian dragoon, horse is very nice indeed.

Dragoons have different shabraque and boots.
I do commands too, but with separate mould. We don't want one command stand for every fusiliers stand also.
