Hi, I will post here the fresh advances in my 6mm sculpting process.
First figure in range.. French fusilier.
Next masters on table..
I don't like big gaps between figures on table. I prefer such, more realistic view..

sho are you casting them that close together because they are going to be very difficult to paint?

Nope. I think to cast them by this way, that they are suitable for one by one painting and using, but at the same time they no need to basing together separately. Mold (with plasticine filling) looks like this.. After painting we simply push figures together..

Molds hardening in the oven, on the evening I begin casting. Then it will be clear, are they worth something or not. Hold your fingers crossed..

Yes, the moulds have two sides. Material is RTV/HB silicone. Costly as hell but best what I have.

Total disaster. 3 days of casting give me no one fully casted strip, allways some bayonet missed. Gravity casting don't have enough pressure. So I order spincasting machine from GB and now wait for delivery. Also I decrease single strips to 3 figures, for sure success.

Sho, have you cut a small air channel in the mould for the air to escape from the end of the bayonets? Spin casters are not cheap!

"have you cut a small air channel in the mould for the air to escape from the end of the bayonets?" Of course. Big channels. "Spin casters are not cheap!" True. This is why I don't bought this machinery years ago. I wanted to learn sculpting and mouldmaking first. But if I want to fully devote myself to miniatures, then without this machinery it will be difficult.

Thanks!
When all good casts goes to new big mould, then I paint defected casts for first impression. I paint slowly like turtle, only 60 figures per 4 day.

I put some 6mm figs in my first spincasting mould for 15(18)mm figures. So here are this subproducts.. ..now I must examine this results, but its looks like, that at least all bayonets are casted perfectly. So purchasing the spincasting tecnology was worthwhile.

After closer examination of the first spincasting results 6mm miniatures I may say, that many third generation gravity casted "masters", whish I created for spincasting mould, have too smooth gradients. Most people probably don't notice that and will be happy, but I seek for perfection. Now I must create new masters directly from the very first sculpture.
