Hi everyone: My recent experiences with posting photos here have left me frustrated. I have laboriously posted pics here many times before. The clunky Photobucket route simply does not allow for the posting of pics on the forum now, the address will not copy. And, while Amazon Prime seems easier to use and the pictures appeared here on my laptop as I wrote my post, when I hit the post button they disappeared. Argh!!
I have to say that I am heartened by the stalwart few who keep returning and posting here, but I do not see a way forward unless some changes are made. I remain interested in supporting this forum, but I have just joined the Lead Adventure Forum as well, where posting pictures seems easier and activity is ongoing. Some of our earlier posters are there.
I will continue here a bit longer, but we need to change things soon. It has been 5 years, I have had a blast here - but we cannot stand still. Bruce

I totally agree Bruce. For me Wargaming is a very aesthetic hobby and not to be able to post pictures is a big downturn. Posting here certainly helped my output of painted miniatures, although it may be seen as vanity, it was a big plus to have ones efforts viewed. I too have moved to other blogs to show my work. It would/will be a great shame if you do move on from here, I regard you as a real stalwart on this forum but I can understand your point. Maybe this forum was only used as a vehicle, which is a shame as it has huge potential. John.

I am sorry to hear this Bruce, but understand your frustration.
As I have mentioned before I use my blog or Twitter for photos and post links in the messages here. Twitter works well enough for quick posts and allows me to post slightly longer descriptions here. It is far more manual than some systems like Facebook so I understand why Facebook is popular. I have recently setup a Volley & Bayonet Facebook site and posting a few photos from a game is very simple. As indeed would be posting on project updates. Given that this is the rules system I use for 6mm Horse & Musket I will probably migrate fully to their if users of this forum continue to drop.
I looked at the Lead Adventure after reading your post. It is not for me as it is covers most scales and as such will I feel drown out 6mm.

Thanks John. Not vanity, I think -we have been a community and enjoy each other's work. It is nice to get feedback, and your stuff has certainly earned high praise, much deserved.
Originally I think this forum was a vehicle for Perfect Six business, started by Richard, the owner. As time went on I think his business changed, focusing on fantasy figures and the like, and he was no longer a presence here, switching to Facebook, I think. Ironic, but no one's fault. Times change. I have enjoyed my time here very much, good people, learned a lot. Bruce

We will stay in touch Keith, I follow your blog and have really learned how to look at rules differently using V&B and Frank Chadwick's design notes. And much thanks for all of your help!
Yes Lead Adventure Forum does not have specific 6mm boards, but it is an active and friendly place, avoiding the issues related to TMP, which does have a 6mm Napoleonics board. TMP remains....well, TMP and it can get kind of uncomfortable there, I feel. LAF is a nice place to see all kinds of things. I also have signed up for Facebook and will join your group there. I do not like Facebook but so much has moved there, and I can post pics of anything related to 6mm there. Bruce

I am a reluctant user of Facebook as well Bruce. I use it only for the wargame groups.

Well, I have done it. Joined Facebook. I have joined the Volley& Bayonet group Keith has started and posted a couple of pics there with ease. The Perfect Six Facebook page is active with Fantasy stuff. I have found a LOT of other interesting groups there. I know there are some bad actors using Facebook for all kinds of things, and I don't like my data being sold off, but it does have advantages. And its really easy to use.
A final thought for this forum. In forums we can have some detailed discussions about stuff, hampered sometimes by no photos, but in general our discussion about tactics, rules, history have been most satisfying. I do not see this much on Facebook so far. This may be the value of being in a forum like this. Any thought? Bruce

Welcome to Facebook Bruce. There is a 6mm wargames group on there that I use to post pictures ect. But I intend to use this site as well, especially to talk tactics and wargame mechanics. John.

I am thinking the same thing John. Maybe this is the vehicle for those deeper discussions we enjoy. Bruce

Yes, don't give up, stay and fight! I was able only to watch some time, as I changed my comp and all those passwords were forgotten. But now I am back!
What do you think about playing wargames here, on forum? With host.
