Hello ffoulkes...
I've just joined what looks like the poifeck board for me: I'm collecting 6mm (and 10mm and other stuff, but I won't talk about that too much here): my main interest has always been Napoleonics, and, especially of late, Russia 1812.
I'm building forces to re fight Smolensk in 6mm (& Maloyaroslavets, in 10mm, oops, mentioned it again already!), and posting my progress, and other sundry stuff I find interesting, here:
aquestionofscale.blogspot.com
I hope you all might find some interesting things there? I'll certainly be checking in here regularly, and look forward to enjoying the world of 'perfect six' with you, 'mon braves'...
Regards
Seb

Hi seb really glad you joined us here, you have a great blog with some superbly painted miniatures 6mm and 10mm and great articles, I'm in the same boat as you as having had nothing to do with this hobby for nearly 20 years, due to life!! I will look forward to seeing your armies progress , Richard Ps. I have added your blog to the links page.

Hi Richard
Thanks for the welcome, and the posts on my blog, and linking my blog on here as well. It's great that you've got this forum going. So good for people like us! I look forward to having fun on 'perfectsix'!
I've been communicating with Sho on Benno's Figure Forum, and he pointed me your way as well. I love what he's doing, and might get some of his figures for my collection. It's wonderful that the internet allows us to share our enthusiasm like this. I'm really having a ball!
Whereabouts are you based, the UK, or elsewhere? In the longer term I'd love to eventually meet up with other enthusiasts. I go to shows etc., but I'm flying solo, and not a member of a club or anything, at least not yet.
Regards
Seb

I'm based in sunny Dorset, how about you? I would love to all meet up one day in conjunction with a huge game I have also been thinking through an idea of running a game via the forum but more on that in another post. Sho figures look very good I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some to paint up to see what there like in the flesh so to speak.

Seb
Welcome to the forum, I'm fairly recent myself.
Just had a look at your blog, very nice. Like the H&R / Adler stuff, well detailed.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Another 6mm Napoleonic wargaming drummer here already... That's heavy, man, but I can dig it! (Sorry, but I do quite like antiquated hipster patois!)
I just watched the old Callan movie, with Edward Woodward. '74, I think: I'd've been 2-ish! Wargaming in the movies. I like it! There's even a sequence where the camera pans slowly over the battlefield, while a sound-effects tape plays in the background.
Any of you guys (or gals*) seen it?
Cheers
Seb
* unlikely, I know... but girl drummers are on the increase... perhaps one day we'll see more ladies rolling dice and arguing about whether they still wore that model shako in 1813? ... or maybe not?

Richard: I'm just outside Cambridge. Ian: what and where is 'Blog-Con'? Sounds interesting ... Hi Seb it all started last year at Nottingham at the Foundry store, about 20 of us over a weekend. Lots of different games such as Saga, Cowboys, a massive Oldhammer game and a few more including my 6mm stuff. All allows others to join in the games etc. Only retail therapy was 28mm. This year we had a Spring Blog Con for our Canadian friend who was visiting the country. That was held at the Air Museum near York but was much small. The Winter Blog Con will be somewhere in the south, probably around the Chatham area dependant on what can be found. I am looking at the Cavalry Museum at Thorsby (Nottinghamshire) as a possible site for next year. It's all about getting together a bunch of wargamers, maybe getting in a game or two and chatting. A chance for a curry in the evening as well. Ian

That all sounds fantastic! I'd love to get a bit of that action. Mind you, since returning to the hobby it's been nowt but going to shows, buying stuff, and painting. The last time I actually played a game was over 25 years ago!

Ian, we'll have to see if we can't break that "only retail therapy of 28mm" next year then - keep me informed - Nottm not too far.

Ian, we'll have to see if we can't break that "only retail therapy of 28mm" next year then - keep me informed - Nottm not too far. It's not really a good "show" type of affair as it's a small number of gamers and most are 28mm types. Will let you know though Ian
