My first four British Battalions are now painted and based. Not easy to paint these I find, the white on red shows up the slightest error Some piccies: The 45th (Nottinghamshire) and the 88th (Connaught Rangers) The 74th (Scotish Regiment but not designated as Highland until after the Napoleonic wars, therefore in line dress) and the 5th (Northumberland). Closeup of the 45th Nottinghamshires (Old Stubborns) Closeup of the 88th Connaught Rangers (The Devil's Own). Tim

Looking good Tim, I especially like the shade of grey for the trousers. Do you dip the figures or add a wash with a brush? I bet the white lace on the cuffs was a killer!

Hi Mark, The grey is vallejo London Gray and I put a wash of nut brown ink over the top of everything. I use a brush for this or you end up with too much in the deeper recesses like the eye sockets then they look like they are all wearing sun glasses! The lace on the cuffs is a bit of an illusion, I only put about two on each cuff just to give an impression.
