Hi all
A very general question what size tree would be the most generic I'm guessing between 25mm and 35mm but not sure

It depends.
Forests typically have trees around 30-40 feet high so 20-50mm is a reasonable range.
However, there is a school of thought that says a wood should be more trees and smaller trees. This is along the lines of dropping a scale for buildings. Me, I think scale trees in small quantities look great.
If you live in a city, check out how many floors the big trees in the park are; a floor is about 10mm.

Depends entirely on terrain, species and climate. Go a few miles from your front door to the New Forest, acid soil, very damp and naturally populated by Silver Birch, Scots Pine and Oak. The Birch and Pine like the damp soil, the Oaks dryer. The Birch get to about 30', Pine to about 40' and the older Oaks to 60-70'. Poplar around here get to 80' easily, but as a general guide I would go for 40'-50' or 40-50mm for an average in general European climate (going on 1'= 1mm). Further east like Russia, smaller deciduous trees (like Silver Birch) but maybe bigger pines to the north. Southern europe mainly small trees like Olive etc., apart from Poplar and Cypress which can get quite tall. Trees in my garden are mainly about 2'-3' due to me putting them in pots and cutting the tops and roots of them, but that's another story Tim

As you will see from my latest release - I've gone for 50mm maximum height - I think anything higher would be more a hindrance on a 6mm board - personal opinion only!

Most of my trees are 25 - 40mm, some smaller, this give me the feel I want for scale on my 4 x 12 table, especially for woods and forest groupings. I think bigger trees make my table look smaller. I would be in the market for some of your smaller size, Mick. Also, my figures are Heroics and Ros so 50mm is a pretty tall tree for these guys. Also I look at my buildings. A 50mm tree is taller than my imposing Leven fortified manor. Just right some for some, just not the look I want. Personal preference. Bruce

Being wire based, these trees can easily be reduced in height by 6-10mm anyway, and are much better than the plastic trees I have seen around, plus they are easily re-shaped to suit the type of tree you want to reflect. I've also tried Ian's method of hairspray and flock to increase foliage and that works nicely too.

I'm looking at supplying etched brass trees as I love them lol great minds think alike , found some I'm going to try small margins in these so also looking at making them from scratch, ion going to start with just 30mm and 40mm as a good generic size.
Does many peeps use K&m they only do 25mm and 50mm that would suit our scale looking at those as well

I'm probably going to do the same. I have a very bad back and can't even risk moving the bigger ones to re-pot. This painting non stop has mucked up several of my hobbies

For me works, when cavalry are not visible behind the trees.

I use K&M 25mm high. Too small on actual scale but look the part in mass and do not overpower the board
