After much faffing around, I have finally taken the plunge. I am starting with the 100 days campaign, focussing initially on Quatre Bras, which gives a nice mix of varied troops, from British line infantry to Mamelukes of the Imperial Guard I have ordered an Adler British Waterloo Division pack, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the make of the included Brigade and divisional commands are? I will be using the General de Brigade rules, as that is what I use for larger scale figs in the peninsular. For Brigade command stands, I'm looking at two figs on a 20mm circular base, with Divisional command stands having 4 figures on a 30mm circular base, with Corps command having 7 or 8 on larger circular base. I'm aiming for mini dioramas for the divisional and corps level stands I'm looking at 30mm x 20mm 8 fig British infantry bases, with skirmishers being mounted 3 figs to a 30mm x 10/15mm base, does this sound reasonable? For cavalry, I'm wondering about either a 6 or 8 figure squadron, on a 30mm by 30mm base, with the guns mounted on 30mm x30mm? Hopefully the pack will arrive before Christmas, and give me something to do, while sitting in front of the tv, "enjoying" whatever SWIMBO has decided we should watch, after I do all the dishes....

Cheers guys.
Nigel, thanks for the info, its very useful.
Apart from washing the dishes, my other Christmas task is baking the Stollen, now that task is out of the way I've been looking at basing again.
Not sure that 40mm x 20mm with 8 figs to a base will look right, so I've been messing about with blank bases. I know a lot of people base on 60mm x 30mm with an entire battalion on a base. Visually these bases do look good, but, to me, they seem more suited to the linear warfare of the 18th century. I'm not sure how the different troop formations used in the Napoleonic period fit with it, when using battalion sized rules.
So, having "played" about with blank bases, I'm wondering if 20mm x 20mm bases would make more sense, (though shifting lots of 20mm bases may slow things up, so some sabot bases might be required). This would give a British battalion frontage of between, 60mm and 100mm depending on the size of the battalion. One of the main attractions for me, of downsizing to 6mm, is that I can have the big battalions, on a reasonable sized table, without the units becoming so cramped that manoeuvring becomes akin to parking in supermarket car-park on the last Thursday of the month.
A related attraction is being able to plonk down terrain pieces like Hougemont or La Haye Saint, and still have room for the miniatures! (Good news for Leven Miniatures)

Instead of going for 1 base per battalion try 2. This will give you the flexibilty to represent column line and square and avoid moving mutiple smaller bases. I use 2 40x30mm bases per battalion (March Attack Rules) with 36 figs per battalion in 3 ranks plus a few skirmishers at the front just for show. Now you may not want to paint that many figures but the massed figures in 6mm do look good in my opinion. Have look at the pictures on the forum or my blog.

I use 60x60 for infantry with around 28 figures to the base. These allow small diorama style bases but cavalry are on 60x30 and guns command 30x30
