Just been mucking about with some new terrain bits. Yeah I know I should be painting more figures at the moment but they arrived last week and it was an itch that had to be scratched!
The river, roads and bridge are from Timecast's new range (I will put a review in soon) and the hills are from Kalistra's non hex terrain range. They are made of vucuum formed plastic and have saved me a lot of time and money rather than making them from EPS which expensive to buy in big blocks and you end up throwing most of it away in the end.
The hills are thicker plastic than I expected and need no extra weighting down (was expecting to have to put plasticine or similar inside) and come in 3 different sizes and heights (very handy).
They also stack inside each other which is great from a storage point of view.
Here is a close up of the Timecast bridge which are smashing models, very crisp and clean but then I did buy them the week after they announced them so the moulds are brand new. They come in a variety of road and river widths to cover virtually every scale and combination you would want.
The Olive tree to the left is scratch built made from lichen gathered from dog walking, trunk from sculpted milliput and flock is a silvery green.
Hope you like.
Tim
Oh nearly forgot!, money saving tip: if you have a colour that you use a lot for scenery, take a sample square painted on white paper to B&Q and use their colour matching service and buy a 250ml sample pot of matt emusion for a lesser price than the 17ml offerings from the big modelling brands! (no names no pack drill)
