Well I've succumbed to the CnC rage and purchased the CnC Napoleonic base rule box set. I'll purchase the extra 3 supplements covering the Spanish, Russians and Austrians over the next month or so, leaving the Prussians until its released.
It was a long decision, lots and ford and against, even looking at the free download rule book, but never the less I went with the idea.
What helped me along was a blog page ( I don't know how to link it) entitled 'A figure painting therapy project'.
Lee, the bloke who has the page, has some of the most magnificent painted and based 6mm Napoleonic's I've seen, all based for CnC.
I emailed him the other night and though he's now playing CnC with 28mm, he still believes 6mm is the way to go and offered his help and advice if I need any further information.
Richard, if you can find his sight and link it, I'm sure our members would find it enjoyable (the older posts, 2010 to 2013 when he was doing 6mm).
Please have a look at his blog and enjoy. Mike

Everyone
Well CNC Naps arrived yesterday and only managed to open the box this morning. First thing I noticed was the weight of the box, about 3kgs. Everything looks great and with the aid of Lee's blog (see link above, once again thanks Tim), I will be rebasing my armies for these rules. I've ordered the 3 expansion sets that are currently available, with the 4th (Prussians) being released shortly I believe. I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Let us no how they pan out mike, is there not a way to adjust slightly to avoid re-basing ?

Sorry thought I had posted a reply. My mini's are based on 50x50mm bases (reduced VnB), after having them based for Ebb & Flow. The CnC hexes are 55mm flat to flat edge which results in my bases encroaching into the surrounding hexes a bit to much for my liking. A 50x35mm base as used by Lee (see the link to his blog above) fits just nice. After reading your last comment, it got me to thinking, why not use the same amount of minis I do now per base, but just rearrange them. Well just pottered about and ended up with something that I just about like and hope can also be used with VnB, Grand Armee That said I'm excited about the coming CnC project. Mike

Hi members
I ordered all 3 available expansion packs on Thursday and already in the post from the eastern states (eastern states of Australia that is) and put in my request for the 4th Prussian expansion when it released hopefully later this year. Eager for them to arrive so I can, well like we all do, potter working out my units. Wife was wondering what all the wooden blocks were, so I told her the system was two fold, rules, cars hexes and board for me, wooden blocks for the grandkids when they visit, she seemed happy with that. Oh the wonders of wargaming.

Mike I have bought the Prussian expansion, yet to get the three others (good news is you don't need them), having a lot of fun with both sets I have. My son is only 8 and yet has a reasonable grasp of them. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them Ian

Ian
Bought all the previous 3 expansions for a good price (sale) from a company here in Australia. I had my local and only shop here in Perth WA, order the Prussian expansion in for me, took a couple of months. Then I blew my trumpet and what do you know there's an expansion 5 (extra cards, tactics, generals etc), soon to be released. So back onto my local shop who have placed a pre-order for me. The problem with me is, if its there, get it. It gets me into trouble with the wife every now and then, but it keeps me at home when not working, which she's happy with with. I'm glad to see that your having fun with the system, have you seen Lee's blog 'A figure painting therapy project'?. Some of the best miniatures I seen. I'm basing mine the same.
Regards Mike

We are now sticking to the blocks as it means my son gets to have a painted army for playing with me and my mate Lee, only another army to paint LOL. Looking forward to getting more games in as my son is on holiday for two weeks from Friday so we should get a few in Ian

The next expansion, Marshalls, Generals, Tacticians has release date set to August 2015 by GMT. Means we should get it around early 2016 at most. Lots of interesting stuff in this new expansion, I'm really curious to see the new deck and the rules for the Grande Batterie.

Welcome to the forum.
I'm looking forward to the new expansion, which is pre-ordered through my local shop.
I'm in the process of making up a 4 x 4 foot hex board.
There's a good link to a site showing C&CN and the basing styles of another gamer. You should have a look at that.

You mean the blog "A figure painting therapy project"? Yes, I've visited quite frequently about a year ago when I wasn heavily invested in the project. It's very good. I'll have to check for a lot of other blogs and sites too, there's a lot of good Napoleonics 6mm stuff in there (and quite impressive too).

Thats the one. I contacted Lee some time ago about his 6mm stuff. He's moved back to 28mm scale, but still believes 6mm is the best for large scale actions. I also asked about his ECW, which he sold off, shame really very nice. I also have Battle Cry, the ACW hex game. Same as C&CN. I'll be doing my ACW that way.

Great I was surprised no commision painters signed up here. Maybe they were put off as it's what I do, but that's not what the forum is about I try not to even advertise myself here except for the scenics so hope he pops by
