Thought I should post a review of this product wich I recently used to create a pond/pool on one of my bases, the product used is vallejo still water
Ok the first thing to do with this product is to remove the instructions on the back, as they will be of no use or worse ruin you work! The main part I had issues with was" apply in fine layers (4-5mm) the product extends and levels itself". So I had a base with a Pool shape I was happy with fully dry brushed and ready the pool being around 3-4mm deep, I thought it would need one pour WRONG!! I poured left it alone for 24 hours as instructed went to check and found I had a hole in the middle of the pool with hard dry blobs around the edge, not deterred I referred to the internet to find out why it happend, it seems this stuff suffers from a lot of shrinkage "your not kidding" I thought, also found tips, the trick is to paint in your layers wich is perfect for small fiddly areas like a tiny pool !! Also it drys a hell of a lot faster like this I got 6 applications done and dry within an hours, I applied it quite thickly dropping the mix into the pool then levelling it of with the brush and a gentle shake of the base , and it worked a treat also adding some thrakka green to the mix gave the pool some great depth,
This is the pool at layer 4 dry and ready for another application.
Completed pool.
Conclusion. The stuff is ok it will work well for small areas ponds, pool, marshy areas, I wouldant use it for anything bigger, it takes pigment well and you could create some amazing effects if you layer correctly from dark to light to create depth. Would I use it again? yes I would but with care.
Tips. Thin layers 2mm max, help the liquid to leval itself with a brush and shake of the base, the last layer or two don't add colour as this helps to add more depth.
Hope this is helpful
