With posts here low I thought it time to post something on my British. Very much an army being reformed after I decided to update the basing a few months ago. The core of the army where each stand represents a brigade. I have tried to variation within the army so some brigades have skirmish screens and other some artillery in direct support - represented by guns on the stands. Mostly this is decorative, creating a diorama. In addition to some stands being modelled with skirmishers there are seperate stands of light infantry. These detachments are used for holding small villages and farms and represent around 500 men. They can operate independently but also can be used to “reinforce” a brigade which gives a combat advantage in game terms. The British will of course do service in the Penisular at some point. Next we have the Netherlands troops, or some of them. There is one division forward and a second partly formed in the rear: Finally, two cavalry brigades, supporting the Netherlands and Nassau infantry. Figures are from Heroics & Ros and based for half scale Volley & Bayonet.

I always enjoy looking at your figures and layout Keith. Your bases are nicely labeled and you have an interesting way of positioning the figures to get the best effect. I have developed some magnetic basing for mine and am using figure removal to track strength points - just my own preference, and I can position stands on the bases as I wish. I am fighting Bull Run right now using your scenario as well. Will post some pics later. Bruce

Thanks Bruce. Figure positioning and making a diorama is very much a work in progress. While I have something of a standard I do look for addit enhancements. You may notice I have moved to a black label with white font which I now prefer on my more recent units.
I look forward to reading of your refight.
