Hi Everyone: I think there are enough of us to have a contest, and there are surely more people out there if we can find a way to reach them. My suggestion is that we postpone discussion of this until January and set up a contest then with a closing date at the end of March. I would be willing to contribute a small material award to the winner in the nature of a gift certificate. If we advertise this a bit, we could get a lot of nice pics to look at - my favorite thing!
While we have not heard from Richard, and Tim has certainly tried, I will also PM him on this. How does this sound? Bruce

Good idea Bruce. We should be able to do this there are 205 members after all! Possibly split into two painting groups, a small and large, im talking about numbers of figures here as painting time is limited for some. John.

Yes, great idea. A couple of categories so that more will see a way to enter that fits their time and talents. Bruce

Just returned from my nearly internet free stay in the UK, hope everyone had a nice holiday. Are we still game to do the painting contest? I am willing to do a gift certificate for a related supplier of handy stuff. Mick at Leven Miniatures comes to mind. He is a Perfect Six supporter at least, with Richard seemingly not in the picture. Something toward buildings or roads, etc. in any case. Timecast? Hoping Richard will not mind a switch to a different type of product for this one. Any other ideas?
Then the rules and categories. Do we stick to 6mm or allow some 8mm for Sho? Given the range of sizes that "6mm" seems to include, I suggest we consider this. Best unit, best individual fig categories? Other ideas? WHat do you think? Bruce

No need for 8mm, I switched from 8mm to 10mm anyway. 6mm works well.
I probably will paint one 6mm figure for Contest. Or more, if allowed. My Units are different from usual yours, so they can't be comparable.

Okay Sho, sounds good. You are an excellent painter.
So....its looks like its been pretty quiet here lately. It seemed like we had enough interest and my suggestion would be to PM some of our regulars at least with dates and format. What do you all think? Bruce

Hi Bruce. Sorry, I have been otherwise engaged for a while. Happy to participate, either for buildings (an interesting and good idea), or units. I still have plenty to paint!

Thanks David. I have been away myself. It has been quiet here indeed. I have asked Tim what he thinks about proceeding. Hopefully we will give it a go soon! Bruce
