Lovely and very interesting uniforms. Do you have a particular uniform guide for Russia that you use? Your army seems to have a strong historical foundation, are you working toward a campaign? Bruce

Hi Bruce. Inspired by James R.Arnolds Crisis in the Snows and Napoleons Triumph. Using his OOBs, the artwork comes from Ospreys and F.G Hourtoulle From Eylau to Friedland. I also look at uniform information from Visocovatch or whatever his name is!! Really any information on the Russian army, anything I can get my hands on. The only campaign/game I am thinking about at present is one based on the overland campaign ACW 1864 between Lee and Grant. One of Grants turning movements but set in the Napoleonic period, again based on Gordon rheas books. Still huge amount of painting to be done. Best regards John.

Great looking figures. Your idea of using another campaign on which to base a game is a good one. I have used some different Nap ones for the period (eg 100 days, but using the 1805 armies of Austria and Russia instead of Britain and Prussia), but haven't extended to campaigns from other periods - endless possibilities.

Very interesting indeed! This has never remotely occurred to me although some generic small scale scenarios I use are based on incidents or tactical problems from other periods.
The ACW makes a great blueprint and I am familiar with most battles and campaigns. New way of thinking - great idea! Bruce
