First Napoleonic game for 2017 so thought I should post here. We use Volley & Bayonet for our Napoleonic games and frequently use the "Road to Glory". I was particularly keen to deploy my Austrians and prepared for a dynamic engagement. I just hadn’t realised how dynamic the upcoming battle would be! Additional photos and a summary of the game can game can be found here: volleyandbayonet.wordpress.com/2017/02/09/eagles-on-the-weissbach/

Welcome and thanks twr. Great looking game and scenario, love the website. Always glad to see some H&R figures here, there are a number of us on the Forum now, I think. Yours look excellent! I know V&B has been with us for a while, but I do not know too much about it. How is it for solo play? The cards sound interesting.
Also, you are the first person besides me that I have seen to use 5mm Pom poms for markers. I love them, very unobtrusive but very easy to track and let's me avoid using rosters. I use magnetic bases for my troop formations, and just stick a tiny bit of flex steel from Litko on my Pom poms. I use a handy oversize set of tweezers to easily drop them on the backs of the bases no matter how bunched up bases and formations become, and they stay there. I can mark and change hits, etc. in a flash this way, giving me a clear idea of what's happening and saving a lot of time and fiddling. This for modified Neil Thomas rules, but also adapts for Blucher and ESR. Bruce

Glad the post was of some interest.
Bruce, in answer to your question V&B uses rosters, but the markers denote some special conditions. We use green for stationary and white for unlimbered artillery that isn't fully deployed. Yellow or red marks a disordered stand and both a routed stand.
I've never played a game solo so I'm not sure how it would play. The rules are designed to refight historical battles. A a turn represents an hour and given the game follow historical outcomes so well, without lots of detail, I suspect with one side following historical plans it may work reasonably well.
