Very nice blog Keith. I think I have visited before. The Kallistra system interests me as I have done both hexes and squares gaming recently using my Chessex Battlemats. Modified Neil Thomas rules. There have been some C & C fans here on the forum. What drew you to this approach for gaming? Bruce

bruceBeen gaming a long time, but now I wanted something that looked good and was quick and easy. Looked good: Thats why I went 6mm with 64 figures per unit. I think it looks more like a Napoleonic unit. Using 15mm with 12 figures per unit just doesn't give me the same visual kick! And the "6mm" buildings now available with reduced footprint help too, they look almost like a village or chateau, using one 15mm house doesn't. But I guess everyone on this forum will agree with me: 6mm looks so much better! Quick: I wanted a game which I could set-up and play with friends and reach a conclusion in an evening after work. Command & Colors does that for me. It comes with lots of ready made scenarios which makes the setup quicker, although you can modify them (as I did with Quatre Bras) or create your own (using Vassal). Also hex movement is so much quicker than millimetre measuring. Easy: I wanted a game with simple rules that are easy to explain and remember even for players who don't play the game on a regular basis. Command & Colors does that for me too. We have modified the rules to make them "better" by adding facing and improving the command and control (but thats my fault, I just can't resist tinkering with any rules set). //Keith
