Hello chaps, here's a shot of some of the Bavarians I've been working on. I must say these H&R Bavarian figures are lovely sculpts, nice and crisp. Sadly I ruin that with my painting!

Hey Ged, these are lovely, and you continue to come up with some very impressive sized armies. I just got in my own H&R Bavarians, a somewhat smaller batch, and I will be checking yours out as I get ready to paint!
You are right about the excellent sculpts. I have been saying the same thing here for a while. I think Andy Kirk has noticeably improved the quality. Bruce

Have to say I was a little disappointed, I've not painted any up yet... but I'm not sure if I'll use them. We'll see.

They turned out okay but the sculpts are not very good. I'll try and post a picture in the next couple of days. Dale

I don't have any Russian Militia, although I have a whole lot of Russians waiting to be painted. I have a lot of older H&R stuff, including my British, most of my French and Austrians, and I have to say that what I presumably have from the Navwar days, purchased through US suppliers, were not clean casts sometimes, which may have made them less detailed. Frequently a defective figure or two, excess metal. I liked them because they are well proportioned to my eyes - except for some of those muskets, which are still big. (but I have never broken one).
From what I have read there were different periods of production for H&R - they have been around a long time. But I am very pleased with the latest products. Apparently there are becoming a go to company for WW2 and Moderns, but they still have an excellent range for Naps, well posed and proportioned, and they convert well. And they really look good when massed as you guys know.
Would like to see those Russian Prussians, Dale! Bruce

Continuing the H&R Russian militia thread :-) I have some painted figures - I'll try and get a photo of them on here. Essential for Borodino/1812 plus there were quite a few at Leipzig as well.

Hey Dale & Davidsh thanks a lot. Look forward to the pics. It would be a great help as I only bought 1 pack each of the militia and wasn't sure about them.
