Baescoat: Black primer, colours for the jackets: Blue- Vallejo Model Color Dark Prussia blue 899. Green -Vallejo medium Olive 850. The basecoat is important as it darkens the tone of the paint which is what I wanted to achieve. If you were to use other primers such as grey or white you could always bring the tone down by washing in black ink then highlighted in the primary colour. I didn't highlight the uniforms in this instance but have on other prussian figures especially Landwehr where I use a highlight of Vallejo Prussian blue 965 on top of the Dark Prussia blue.
