I had more or less decided on Leven Miniatures for my building, but those nice people at Total battle Miniatures have released a new range for the 100 days www.totalbattleminiatures.com/bigbattalions/6mm/100days.htmland I am back to square one lol. Spoilt for choice. I don't have any shrunken footprint buildings, how do they look on the table, and has anyone mixed & matched with traditional footprint buildings?

I quite happily put Timecast, TBM (big battalions range)and Leven on the table together. They are all pretty compatible. Time cast are the biggest footprint and I tend to put their stuff together on one base. The new range from TBM looks even more compressed though and I am not sure how they would look against the others. We will have to wait untill someone paints some up and compares them against 6mm figs and other buildings.

I'm going to order the leven la haye saint anyway, I think I'll order the TBM 100day version as well, and see how they match up. Jings, that will be three versions of La haye Saint on the stocks, including the Airfix 1/72nd one for my 18th Century plastics imagination project!
Quick question, has anyone tried the paper terrain 6mm buildings? Their micro scale buildings look nice, but I'm wondering if they are bit fiddly to construct?

Irregular miniatures www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/ have some interesting stuff in their 6mm Scenics and Accessories range including Hougoumont and La Haye Sainte but even livestock, vines, trees, walls, fences and gates plus a great set of separate windows, doors, roofs and steps - each has a peg for inserting into balsa blocks or similar to build your own houses.

Thanks for idea of eBay trees from China. Excellent value and they'll be great with a bit of tarting up and basing.

A word of advice on the Chinese trees Richard. If you get some they will be a bit squashed up from packing. Tease them out gently (I use a cocktail stick) into the shape you want, then give them a spray with matt varnish or hairspay etc. to make the foam stick a bit better. They are a bit delicate.

Hello Melspence: just noticed this question. I have used the buildings from Paper Terrain, in fact this was all I used until Leven came along. They are a bit fiddly indeed, but nicely done, good stock, well printed, nice company, the best card stock buildings around. After a little practice, most of the buildings go together pretty quickly.
In the end, I found that I enjoyed painting buildings, getting that depth of perspective and creating effects. Leven has an ever expanding catalogue, good quality, good prices. But Paper Terrain will get you in the game quickly and relatively cheaply. Bruce

Thanks for the link Tim. I have heard of this site before. As I play Blucher quite a bit, the base size for a village is just over 1 base width square. To make a to a town place 2 together and for a city 3. The base width that we use os 60mm. I was going to use 3mm buildings as 6mm look a bot large (La Haye Saint for instance). This way I can make a nice looking village/town/city with a plane base underneath for placing troops inside. Cheers Colin.

Another link you might all be interested in. (Shameless plug). I have just started a business constructing 6mm buildings beginning with a range that covers northeastern France suitable from medieval to Modern times. Other ranges to follow. If you are interested please have a look at my page. Thanks MickS www.facebook.com/hmbuildings/

They look good Mick, are they resin? No, each is hand made from card and painted. Because of the construction method they are very sturdy. MickS
