Well six days after the show and I feel able to post here about it. Talk about worn out LOL.
It was a great day and I am very proud of what we managed to put together. Just two of us to get the entire OOB, Lee also sorted out the terrain whilst I threw paint in the general direction of Leven Miniatures buildings.
From Hougoumont to the Prussians, well eventually
The Guard awaits orders.................
Hougoumont attacked, fighting in the woods
Grand Battery V Allied guns
Cavalry in the valley, guns firing blind as Wellington (Lee) hid his troops again!
The grand view, Lee is ducking under the table whilst my son is playing the Waterloo scenario for Commands & Colors which he not only set up but also won LOL
French flank bends in as the Prussians start to show up (off camera)
French Young Guard enter Plancenoit, the Prussians are top right
Some of the Prussian troops, unfortunately we had to finish before they could get involved but that won't be the case when we actually play the game at Lee's.
More Young Guard marching to the Prussian threat.
It was great to see how the actual battle played out (we did not play so much as move units historically). Hougoumont sucked in so much of the French infantry on that flank whilst the French cavalry attack really looked impressive, far more than seeing the broken units streaming back with the British hard at their heals! I also now can see why Plancenoit was so important to both sides as the battle was coming to an end.
Lots more pics on my blog.
