At the moment Poundland here in the UK are selling what they call snow mats. Ma Subs opened hers today to put the tree on and, thinking warames usage, I thought the stuff would make great lines of musket smoke. It is rectangular 70 x 40cm (ish) so you already have a straight edge to go along the line of your bases. Fluffing up the other side would create a great look for a unit firing.

Don't buy any with tiny glittery bits, though. The glitter gets bloody everywhere!
